Rock Chip Repair

Windshield Chip Repair

Windshield chips come in many different shapes and sizes.  Each chip comes with their own separate challenges. Our technicians know how to properly repair each style to get the best results.

Will I be able to see the chip after it's fixed?

Yes, you will be able to see the repaired area when completed. The repair is a structural repair, not a cosmetic fix. Typically, a rock chip will clear up approximately 50% after being repaired.

Can you fix the little white specks?

No, the white specks are called "pits".  A pit is a divot of glass coming out of the outside layer of glass. The windshield wasn't hit hard enough to fully break the outside layer, just damage it. When you find it difficult driving in the sun due to a glare, excessive windshield pitting may be the cause.

Will my car insurance cover the repair cost?

If you have comprehensive coverage on your vehicle, the cost may be covered depending on your deductible. It's always best to contact your agent to verify coverage before the repair is done.

How long does it take to fix a chip?

A rock chip takes about 15-20 minutes to fix.

Is there a limit to the size of a chip that can be fixed?

Depending on the size of the impacted area, we usually are able to repair a chip up to the size of a quarter. Unfortunately, windshield cracks can't be repaired, we can only try to stop them from spreading.
